The snow is falling, the resorts are opening, and we’re feeling the stoke… In many ways this is the best time of year, a time filled with hope of huge pow days, the promise of new gear and the camaraderie of having your best buds back together on the mountain. There is also a flood of ski movies to get your blood pumping and inspire you to go bigger and bolder than you’ve ever gone before.
Here in Park City, we celebrate this time of year and Aloha is proud to be a part of the tradition with our showing of old school ski flicks, of which the king is, no doubt, Aspen Extreme. For many kids growing up in the Midwest in the 90’s, Aspen Extreme showed that it was possible to break out and get to the big peaks and big pow out west. TJ and Dexter were the ski-inspiration for a generation of young skiers and Aspen Extreme is a true celebration of ski culture.
Join us on December 7th at the Park City Library’s Santy Auditorium at 6:30pm for a showing of Aspen Extreme on the Big Screen and celebrate the spirit of the season! Sport your best 80’s and 90’s ski apparel, there will be prizes for the best outfits! Admission is 2 cans of food or 1 item from the Christian Centers wish list (diapers (Size 1-4), baby wipes, non-refrigerated juice, butter, cheese, healthy cereal, cooking oil, white rice, quart zip lock bags).
Ski movies won’t make it snow (that requires sacrifice to the Norse god Ullr), but they will put a smile on you face and remind you to keep your tips up!
